Yangsi Kalu Rinpoche
Yangsi Kalu Rinpoche, H.E. Kalu Rinpoche's tulku (or reincarnation), was recognized by H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche in 1992 and formally acknowledged by H.H. Dalai Lama. Rinpoche resides at Sonada Monastery in India.
KDC's resident teacher, the Venerable Lama Tsang Tsing, completed the traditional three-year retreat at Sonada, India under the guidance of H.E. Kalu Rinpoche. In 1984 Rinpoche sent Lama to the West to be Retreat Master for retreats in Canada and Oregon. In 1987 H.E. Kalu Rinpoche established a Dharma Center in Eugene, and named and blessed the center Kagyu Dakshang Chuling, appointing Lama Tsang Tsing as Director. The center's name represents the two great practice lineages of Gampopa (Dakpo Kagyu) and Khyungpo Naljor (Shangpa Kagyu).

The center offers a weekly schedule of meditation practices and Lama Tsang Tsing regularly offers teachings, seminars and empowerments in Eugene, Oregon and throughout the west coast. Lama has brought many of the greatest Kagyu masters to teach at KDC: H.E. Tai Situ Rinpoche and H.E. Jamgon Rinpoche, V.V. Bokar Rinpoche, V.V. Thrangu Rinpoche and V.V. Khenpo Tsultrim Rinpoche.
As KDC's resident teacher, Lama Tsang Tsing creates many opportunities for students at all levels to study and practice a pure, authentic lineage. The teachings are open to all people with a sincere interest in Buddhism and have many benefits. Lama is happy to extend a warm welcome to all KDC visitors.
